Submissions for the inaugural Psychedelic Film Festival, part of Psychedelics in the Beehive, will open on May 1, 2025.

The festival invites short films that explore themes related to, inspired by, or adjacent to psychedelic experiences. Films should have a duration of 4 to 40 minutes.

Rules

This festival aims to highlight the creations of emerging independent filmmakers, both from the United States and around the globe. It focuses on independent short films and short documentaries.

Language:
Films that include non-English language spoken for extended time should include English subtitles.

Notification:
Films selected for screening will be notified on or around December 1, 2025.

Submission Fee:
Entry Fee paid when submitting.
Entry fees are non-refundable.

Terms:
- All accepted films may be screened more than once, and are scheduled at the discretion of the Psychedelics in the Beehive Film Festival staff.
- It is the responsibility of the filmmaker to secure authorization for any copyrighted material that may be used in the film.
- Psychedelics in the Beehive is held harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, or screening of any film.
- Psychedelics in the Beehive does not pay screening fees or guarantee travel for filmmakers.
